PROJECTS Towards its goal of Globalization, December 28th, 2016, GIS completed the acquisition of Infun Group. Business dedicated to the design, casting and machining of parts and components for engine, transmission and suspension systems for the auto industry. Infun has operations in Spain, Italy and China, this acquisition will consolidate more talent, experience and skills to our company, which will improve our capacities. On December 2015, GIS acquired ACE Group, European leader in iron castings and aluminum castings and machining for brake systems in the Auto Industry. ACE has 60K tons of iron casting capacity and 9K tons of aluminum casting capacity. This acquisition is a first step towards achieving GIS’s vision of becoming a Global Organization. In June 2014, the Joint Venture (JV) established with TRW Automotive for building an auto parts foundry plant in Irapuato, Guanajuato was announced. This plant will also integrate the machining process and is expected to start operations in the third quarter of 2015 (3Q15). Also, in December 2014, it was announced the partnership agreement with Fagor Ederlan to build a new auto parts plant focused on the automotive market in NAFTA, it is expected to commence production in 2016. OUR TEAM By the end of 2019, GIS counted with the talent of almost 6,500 employees. FACILITIES We currently operate within 23 facilities (14 in the auto part division, 4 for ceramic tiles AND 5 in the housewares division) located in different cities within 6 countries: Mexico, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Italy and China. In addition, GIS has 4 world-class Research and Development centers, and 2 specialized centers: BCC for brakes systems and MTU for machining.
